About UJS

Leading, Defending and Enriching Jewish Life on Campus

The Union of Jewish Students (UJS) is the leading representative body for Jewish students in the UK, representing over 10,000 Jewish students across more than 85 Jewish Societies (JSocs) on campuses nationwide. As the voice of Jewish students for more than 100 years, we work to build campus communities where every student is safe, supported and empowered to achieve their ambitions during and beyond their studies. We believe in a society in which students play a leading role in protecting and promoting diversity, and where all people can express their religious, cultural, ethnic and national identities without fear of hate or prejudice.

Antisemitism Education

UJS is committed to tackling antisemitism and promoting inclusivity across university campuses.

For over a decade, we have delivered Antisemitism Awareness Training across the higher education sector to thousands of Students’ Union staff, student leaders, and university staff. Our training equips them with the knowledge and confidence to identify antisemitism, challenge it effectively, and support Jewish students on campus.
In 2025, UJS was awarded a grant by the Department for Education as part of the Tackling Antisemitism in Educationprogramme, in response to the alarming rise in antisemitism following the Hamas terror attacks in Israel on 7 October 2023 and subsequent war in Gaza. This programme aims to provide free, comprehensive training and resources to more university staff and students than ever before, promoting greater awareness and understanding of antisemitism.

Antisemitism Education has been developed to help resource this work. It provides an accessible, centralised and comprehensive digital library of resources to help you understand, recognise and effectively respond to antisemitism.

“It was an excellent session. It really opened my eyes to the subtle ways antisemitism is still worming its way through society. I talked about it to a good number of friends and colleagues afterwards, and I would really recommend this to anyone and everyone.”
